Deepa’s abstract expressionist art radiates vibrant energy, inspired deeply by nature’s processes like corrosion and erosion. These natural phenomena, with their intricate interplay of pigments and textures, create dramatic narratives that echo in her work, both visually and emotionally. Each piece is accompanied by a poem penned by Deepa herself, weaving together her artistic and literary vision. Her mastery of the palette knife—a tool she wields with subconscious precision—allows her to channel shapes and forms drawn from her memory, painting intuitively in a state of flow without premeditation.
Her works achieve a delicate balance and depth without conforming to defined forms, often embracing the enigmatic presence of black, a color that frequently finds its way into her compositions. Deepa’s creative process challenges her to explore the dynamic relationships between colors and shapes, maintaining harmony while resisting predictability. Her art and poetry invite viewers to question their understanding of reality, suggesting that our perceived world is a construct of imagination that deeper harbours the construct of thoughts, where individuality and the environment are inseparably entwined. Through this lens, her work illuminates the profound interplay of “Everything” and “Nothing” within the mind.
